Planting of the second season maize crop has been completed in September and in the North, which only has one rainy season, harvesting of cereals is underway. Favourable rainfall across the country in the last month has benefitted the recovery of crop conditions. However, the impact on crop conditions of the extended rainfall deficit between mid-July and beginning of September is still evident in some areas. In the Savanes province, which provides around 30% of the total cereal production (

Rangeland biomass conditions have benefited from the improved rainfall in the last month and they are close to an average level.
