In April, no major food crops cycle is usually ongoing in the country, only the minor cycle of rice is continuing the harvest stage. The Copernicus C3S multi-model forecasts a high probability of drier-than-normal conditions in May and June, with the potential for extreme drought in July and August 2026. These conditions could negatively impact the upcoming primera season, which begins in May.
