In Yemen, harvest of irrigated wheat has started in the Eastern Plateau while wheat is in vegetative growth in the Central and Northern Highlands and above average biomass levels (as is the case also for rangelands across the country due to good rainfall in Autumn) suggest good prospects. Food insecurity remains high with about 17 out of 30 million people (IPC phase 3 or above) mainly as a result of the socio economic conditions (see OCHA report ).
