Tunisia

March 2026
In Tunisia, winter cereals are in favourable conditions in all producing governorates with close to average (Bizerte, Nabeul) or above average (Beja, Jendouba, Le Kef, Siliana, Kairouan) crop biomass, including in minor producing governorates in the east (Zaghouan, Ben Arous) where crop biomass was initially well below average. The season started with a 50% rainfall deficit in the north in October, in the centre-south in November and in both months in the east, which delayed the start of cereals growth mainly in the east. Rainfall then improved in December and January (with close to and above average amounts respectively) and remained close to average in February and March, supporting the development of winter cereals. Overall prospects are favourable as rainfall conditions should remain close to average till the end of the season in June, according to the Copernicus C3S seasonal multimodel forecast.
