Nicaragua

March 2026
In March, the apante cycle of maize and beans has reached the harvest stage. Vegetation conditions in the regions where apante production is concentrated were around average except in the department of Rio San Juan where the 34% of cultivated areas show greenness anomalies.According to the Copernicus C3S Multimodel, below normal rainfall conditions are forecast from May through August, with increasing probability of drier conditions in July and August in all areas.
This could hinder the sowing activities and the vegetation stage of the main cycles of beans and maize that normally start in May.
