Haiti

April 2026
In April, the main cycles of maize and rice are concluding the sowing stage. The spring agricultural season has started with the favourable conditions, but in an negative economic and security context as access to inputs remains limited due to high prices, logistical constraints linked to insecurity (ReliefWeb).
According to the Copernicus C3S Multimodel, there is a high probability of very drier than normal conditions throughout the country from May through June, which might affect the vegetative stage and harvest of the main crops cultivations.
IPC estimates for the March-June period 2026 indicate that 53% of the population is likely to face high levels of acute food insecurity, with almost 2 million people in Emergency (IPC Phase 4) mainly due to armed violence and high inflation (IPC).
