Guatemala

March 2026
In March, the apante maize cycle reached the harvest stage in the north and in the Caribbean part of the country and is at the end of the vegetative stage in the northern strip (maga).

Rainfall has been above average in the north in the last dekad and close to average in the past month in the cropland areas in the Northern strip of the country where apante cycle is mostly cultivated. Vegetation conditions are normal in the area, with some anomalies probably due to the February rainfall deficits in the north.

The seasonal forecast until May indicates lower than average rainfall for the entire country (Copernicus C3S Multimodel), which could affect the normal establishment of crops in the Primera cycle.
